Dr. Stephen Timchack & Dr. M. Akram Khan

     For psychological and psychiatric services in Northeastern Pennsylvania, look no farther than Pierce Street in Kingston, home to the practice of clinical psychologist Stephen Timchack, PsyD, and adult, child, and adolescent psychiatrist M. Akram Khan, MD.
     With more than 15 years of experience in the field, Dr. Timchack is a board-certified behavioral analyst whose goal is “timely, thorough and empirically supported clinical psychology services to the public and professional communities.”

     Timchack earned his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and opened his Pierce Street practice in January of 2010.

     He runs a private practice in clinical psychology, psychological testing, behavior modification, and individual psychotherapy.

     His areas of expertise include the diagnosis and treatment of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), a medical condition characterized by difficulties with inattention or hyperactivity and impulsivity in adults and children. In addition, he is a certified specialist in behavior modification, personality assessment, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Cognitive Therapy.

     Timchack offers specialty evaluations for bariatric or weight loss surgery, as well as Act 235, disability determination and behavioral modification consultation. He accepts referrals from local primary care physicians, pediatricians, and psychiatrists.

     Sharing the office is Dr. M. Akram Khan, who believes in offering “a supportive, listening ear to the community.”

     Khan is an adult, child, and adolescent clinical psychiatrist. His expertise is in Neuropsychiatric Disorders, defined as the mental disorders that are attributed to diseases in the nervous system or brain.

     He has trained and worked at Drexel University and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He accepts private-pay patients.
