Q: Why should an adult student complete a bachelor’s degree in business after he or she has already established a career?

A: A career is never established, but is always being established.

Learning is not something we do for a short while; it’s a life-long process. The knowledge and skills gained from Wilkes University’s accelerated bachelor of business administration (ABBA) degree help individuals in their current job, and prepares them for future placement. These skills are applicable to all careers, whether in a corporation, the government, a social service agency, hospital, school, or not-for-profit organization. Completing a degree in business also provides students with credentials on their résumé, prov

At Wilkes, we know there are many reasons students might not complete their degree right away. We pride ourselves on knowing what adult learners need in an institution of higher education– a secure, low-stress environment in which to finish their degree in a short amount of time, without unnecessary expense. Our master of business administration (MBA) degree program is recognized as one of the best in the area and we’ve taken what makes it successful and applied it to the ABBA, including a competitive tuition structure and accelerated learning through eight-credit trimesters, enabling students to complete their degree in less than 2 years. Classes are offered in the evenings and on weekends.

Students accepted into the ABBA program should have five years of professional experience,  whether in the military, workforce, or the home,   which is optimal for the non-traditional student who doesn t want to return to English 101 with a roomful of 18 year-olds. ABBA degree-seeking students have an advisor who understands the particular needs of the adult student, from      registration to financial aid, to information    about snow days. Wilkes has combined these  elements to create the best possible experience for adult learners.
A bachelor’s degree in business benefits anyone in the workplace, but it also equips students with the skills needed to make quality decisions about personal finances and legal   matters outside of work. Having a bachelor of business administration degree is both practical and valuable. Wilkes makes it possible.ing they are actively establishing themselves in their chosen profession.
