Profiles In Business Excellence: Embroidry Zone, Inc

Jenna Hawley

A colorful array of products and the expertise of a talented professional wait for you at Embroidery Zone, Inc.
Owner Amy Simmons, born and raised in Exeter, and a graduate of Wyoming Area, acquired her trade experience and passion when she worked at Aureus, an embroidery business in West Pittston. Soon after, she launched her own business out of her home, in 1994.
It was, and still is important to Amy to remain in the community of Exeter, to offer her professional embroidery services, and to bring in revenue to her hometown. To this end, she has put a lot of work into landscaping and renovating the building.
Before purchasing the shop at her current location in 2000, Amy focused mostly on contracted and wholesale work geared toward country club apparel, including the well-known "Ryder Cup," for which she was featured on local television. Now she caters to retail businesses as well.
Embroidery Zone's variety of services provide convenience to all types of customers. While Amy specializes in wholesale, contract, and volume orders, there is no minimum to order, and individual orders and retail purchases are encouraged.
Customers with different interests can find unique items a baseball hat with their team colors or school mascot, work uniforms, fire and safety apparel, or simply a sweatshirt boasting "The World's Greatest Grandma."
Amy takes customers' own items for monogramming and embroidery, which may offer savings at times. Large companies find apparel for their employees, giveaways, or sponsorships at Embroidery Zone. Amy can help design logos and provide quick delivery for large orders, and custom embroidery and screen transfers are also available.
Amy is hoping to add patches, focusing on fire/rescue/police, custom designs, and ad specialties for corporate, event, and individual apparel in the near future.
Embroidery Zone, Inc. has a large inventory of more than 20,000 stock logos, 65 stock lettering styles with no setup fees, and a 325-page merchandising catalog. Amy strives to keep her prices low and her quality high. All orders are completed by Amy on the premises, with nothing subcontracted out.
"Quality is my top priority whether it's one piece or a thousand pieces," said Amy. "Everyone is sure to find a logo and an item to fit their needs on budget and deadline."
