The latest update to Telemedicine includes placing a monitor in the home to evaluate blood pressure, weight, pulse oxygen levels, and blood sugar levels. The data is then transmitted to the cardiac nurses, and a report is sent to the physician. The goal is to detect abnormalities and to deter hospital admittance.
Erwine Private Duty Health Care was added in 1995 for those patients seeking continuous careÐ from 2 to 24 hours a day. Personal care, meal preparation, and grocery shopping are among the provided tasks. Erwine Hospice was added in 2004 to provide comfort care to patients and families during the time it is most needed. Service can be provided in the home or in an inpatient setting.

Erwine Home Health and Hospice, Inc. is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Health Division of Home Health Services, Medicare, and is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Home Health Agencies. Erwine's received Joint Commission Accreditation with Commendation in 1995, 1998, 2001 and 2004, and the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP) in 2006. CHAP was the first accrediting body for community-based health care organizations in the United States and has regulatory authorization to survey agencies providing home health and hospice services.
