Profiles In Business Excellence: Fino's Pharmacy Dallas

Ron Mortimer

Fino’s Pharmacy is more than just a corner drug store. Just ask any one of its regular Back Mountain customers. Since 1963, the Fino family has played a vital role in improving and sustaining the health of its neighbors.
Notably, the history of the building itself dates back to the late 1800s, when it served the Dallas community as Norton’s and later as Kuehn’s Drug Stores. In addition, the building had been physically moved to its present location. If it were to sit today where it was originally built, it would undoubtedly sit somewhere in the roadway near the intersection of Main Street and Route 415.
Professionalism and courtesy are just two of the qualities that set Fino’s apart from other independent pharmacies and have also helped to retain their clientele through the years despite a recent emergence of drugstore chains in the area. Despite day-to-day challenges, Dominic Fino, Sr., and sons Dominic, Jr., and Michael Fino have risen above the competition.
Much of Fino’s success can be attributed to specialties such as compounding, which enables the formulation of your medications done right in the store, as well as alternative medication forms and even arthritis creams and ointments. Listed among the Professional Compounding Centers of America, Fino’s can even compound medications for a variety of animals, especially its popular ‘triple-fish suspension for dogs and cats. Also note that Fino’s can prepare specialized Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy medications in both topical and oral form.
Can’t take a pill? See Pharmacist Michael Fino for a possible liquid or transdermal patch instead. He even offers the flavoring of children’s medications for those young ones who just don’t like that ‘medicine’ flavor.
Fino’s Pharmacy recently began providing curb service for those who don’t feel well enough to walk into the store or for mothers with young children in the car. Just a call from a cell phone upon arrival is all that is necessary. Fino’s staff has received compliments from the public for this special and unique service.
Keep Fino’s Pharmacy in mind the next time you need a prescription filled. It is open 365 days a year and provides free delivery in the Dallas area.
