The women of Sister Sledge once sang “we are family,” making them a staple group of the disco era. While you won’t find the sisters of Kingston’s 3 Sisters “hustling” around the store in bellbottoms, you will find a store that has become a staple of the United Penn Plaza. Each sister contributes her part to the whole of this charming gift shop. And what beautiful music they make!
The three sisters, Catherine Duffy, Mary Leeds and Diane Dreier, have been been showcasing distinctive gifts and jewelry in their establishment for more than 17 years.
“We have always had a love for beautiful things and shopping, and we wanted to make them available to the people in our area,” said Catherine.
The shop began as a form of celebration for stunning things and a desire to give area residents access to creative items. In fact, Catherine’s passion for jewelry led to several courses in Gemology. Her work with the science of gemstones has translated into 3 Sisters offering the public unique treasures that are affordable and appealing to all.
“We have the best selection of sterling silver jewelry and interesting gifts in the area, in all price ranges,” said Catherine.
In addition to the increasingly popular charm bracelets introduced in Europe and the PANDORA and Troll selection, 3 Sisters also offers homemade soaps and soy candles.
“Our store is indescribable,” said Catherine. “It must be experienced in person.”
Customers who experience 3 Sisters range in age from one to 101. “It is nice to know that we appeal to such a wide variety of people,” said Catherine.
“We pride ourselves on our exceptional customer service. Our goal is to make everyone’s shopping experience as enjoyable and as easy as possible. In fact, the most rewarding aspect of our business is meeting and getting to know all of our wonderful
customers.”
